THE REGIONS AND COUNTIES
Each Region under the direction of the Regional Chairman has a committee consisting of county Chairmen within the Region, a Regional Instructor, a Regional Physiotherapist, a Regional Driving Representative and other advisers.
At County level the County Chairman and the County Instructor provide direct help to the Member Groups and may call for specialist advice when it is required from the Regional Committee.
OUR PLANS FOR EXPANSION
In the past, Member Groups have operated mainly in country areas where knowledgeable helpers and suitable ponies are available. In order to give the opportunity to many disabled people who live in the cities and large urban areas PURPOSE BUILT RIDING CENTRES are essential.
We also wish to offer more opportunities to adults, many of whom live in these densely populated areas.
RECURRING NEEDS
Suitable horses and ponies.
Special equipment for the safety, comfort and assistance of disabled riders.
Help in riding holidays.
Production of videos for training and illustration of our work.
Helpers and Leaders over 24 years of age.
Training of instructors, therapists and helpers in this specialised work.
Organisation of conferences for mutual exchange of ideas and experiences and to send delegates to conferences in other countries.
Provision of insurance cover, professional advice, publications and central administration.
Covered riding schools to eliminate the the disappointment of cancellation of riding in bad weather and to encourage independent riding in safety.
Funds are always required to finance these needs. Without funds we cannot expand. Without expansion we cannot further open the doors of opportunity to disabled people. Many look forward to riding with us today. We would like so many more to join us tomorrow.
